The whole experience was fantastic, Maria knows her field inside out. She was brilliant with the boys, warm, gentle and kept them entertained. She was quick, and confident in her ability as she was able to capture many different shots moving between them quickly, which we will cherish for life!
I had heard of Maria's work before hand through family members as well as other photographers in the industry. Maria is spoken of very highly. Now seeing her at work and our photographs I can say the hype is very much spot on.

A session with Maria is always a pleasure. She knows how to get the best out of your baby/toddler, and our location session was perfectly pitched to keep the Mr engaged, but not exhaust him.
We timed the shoot for when we had family over from Australia, and the forecast was for heavy rain for a fortnight. Working quickly and efficiently in a gap in the weather, Maria was flexible enough not just to get the shots, but to wrangle four adults as well!
The photos from our newborn session get comments from everyone who has seen them, and they remind us not only of our son as a tiny baby, but also of a wonderful time in Maria’s studio– a welcome interval in the overwhelming first few weeks of parenthood.
Maria is a pleasure to work with, from booking the session to ordering the images, and we only wish we could bring her back to Australia with us.

The initial motivation to have a professional photo shoot was for my daughter's 100 days, we wish to memorize this special moment. Right after viewed Maira's website, we made up our mind that she is the one. We are very satisfied about the service, and the whole experience throughout the shoot was enjoyable; a nice and spacious studio, and most of all, an absolutely brilliant photographer. As her first experience, my daughter was extremely unsettle during the shoot; however, Maria showed us her professionality and great personality too, being very patient and knows exactly what shes dealing with. I first became aware of Maria Murray’s work when I saw photos she had taken on my friend’s wall. I was so impressed and thought the pictures were so outstanding that, when I have a baby, I would like her to capture this special time. When this happened I contacted Maria who was extremely efficient and helpful and came back to me immediately with all the information I had requested. I like the fact that she has an open and honest approach; you know exactly what the session entails and the cost before you make a decision to book. We decided to go ahead with the beginnings scheme and have had our first session. I was a little nervous as I didn’t know how my baby was going to cope but Maria was so warm and friendly and made the session a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable experience. We are delighted with the results and so looking forward to the next two sessions. The only difficulty we have had has been choosing which pictures we were going to purchase due to the fact they are all so fantastic and know it will be equally as difficult after our further two sessions.

Like many new parents we were keen to get professional photographs taken of our baby girl Sophie. After doing much research we found Maria, who had excellent references and importantly, the example photographs on Maria's website really looked amazing and exactly the sort of fun and warm photos that we were after. Booking in the session with Maria was straight forward and Maria was very accommodating as we needed to change the date due to Sophie having teething problems the first time. Maria did a great job of explaining the different services she offered, all of the relevant costs and how to proceed so the whole process was very easy and stress free. So having found Maria and having booked in the session, it was time for the photo session. Maria makes sure that you have plenty booked for your photo session so providing a relaxed approach to the session. Maria was able to provide lots of advice before the photo shoot in terms of type of colours to wear which was very helpful. When we arrived at Maria's purpose built studio, we found the studio very calming and relaxing, with toys for Sophie to play with and lots of costume accessories for us to choose from and the heating was just right, especially as changing Sophie between photos. Unsurprisingly, Sophie needed a toilet break and Maria was only too accommodating of all those unexpected things babies do! Maria listened to our ideas of what we wanted from the photos and then came up with shots, backgrounds and costumes for Sophie to bring these to life. If, like us you don't have a great creative side, Maria is perfect as she can take your ideas and really bring these to life. During the actual photo shoot, Maria was reassuring and most importantly, was fantastic at getting Sophie's attention and making her smile and pose for the camera which is no small feat. Maria had a good understanding of how much time we would have Sophie's attention for and worked to make the most of this time so that by the end of the photo shoot we had many many great shots to choose from. In fact, thats the hard part, choosing the ones that you want. Following the photo shoot, Maria again clearly explained the process for how we would get the photos and take the process forward. A great option Maria provides is for a sneak peak where she provides online access to your photos very quickly in advance of the full set being available so you can share these with friends etc. Having now selected our photos and completed the process, we couldn't recommend Maria highly enough. We will definitely use Maria again for special occasions as the output has been fantastic and well worth the effort.
We just had the first of our 'beginnings' sessions with Maria for our daughter and cannot rate Maria highly enough - 10 stars if it was an option. We did the beginnings sessions with our son a couple of years ago and am pleased to report only Maria's location has changed.

The whole experience from the initial telephone call is both personal and highly professional. Maria has a wonderful attitude and manner, both to children and life, and this is reflected in the photographs she takes and way in which she conducts her business. My family has now had two sessions with Maria, one for each child. We are happy to drive out of London to see her as her pictures are the best of any that I have seen. She managed to capture the spirit of my children (sparkly eyes, sweet smiles and naughty little grins) while making them look absolutely beautiful at the same time. She moves smoothly and quickly from shot to shot. My daughters (one rambunctious toddler and one 9 month old) were not bothered by the shoot at all and really seemed to enjoy having their photos taken by Maria. There were no tears; only smiles. I cannot recommend Maria enough - her pictures truly are the best.
I decided to use Maria after reading such brilliant reviews and being impressed with the many photographs on her website. Maria photographed my two sons- aged 4 months and 3 years. I have had quite a few photography sessions with others in the past but Maria by far tops the lot! The photographs turned out amazing- very tender, natural beautiful shots of my children, and each one telling a story. The only problem I had was trying to decide which ones to eliminate as they were all fantastic, so I ended up buying all of them! I totally recommend Maria to anyone considering a children's photographer. She is extremely professional, talented- you won't be disappointed with the results.
Absolutely beatutiful images captured so naturally, Maria's images are so fresh and so real! I have been taking both my children to Maria since they were babies, Maria is an incredibly talented photographer! Thank you to Maria for giving us such special memories of our most precious little girls.
I found out about Maria through a couple of friends that used her. I couldn't believe it when I saw her pictures, as they were so different to the usual types of pictures I have seen, these were gorgeous and so natural! Straight away we decided that we wanted to get our baby's photos done with Maria and booked in for the shoot (we had to wait 2 months as she is so busy!) Although they are not the cheapest, we are over the moon with the photos and so glad we had them done. She has a great way with babies and I would highly recommend her to anyone.
