Copyright is often misunderstood. Legally the Copyright remains with the photographer. This doesn’t mean that they have permission to show or sell your images, unless they have written consent from you. When you purchase digital files from me, you are purchasing the right to reproduce the images, without limitations, for your own personal use only. So you can print them as many time as you like, and as big as you like.

Therefore, you don’t need Copyright, unless you are planning to sell them or use them for monetary gain. If you want to use them for Commercial purposes, please state this at the time of booking, as commercial rates apply. Commercial usage would be classed as you using images for your business , rather than personal purposes. The Copyright still remains with the photographer, but as mentioned before this doesn’t mean that they can use the images in anyway, without first having your permission to do so. If you are absolutely certain you would like Copyright, we can of course discuss this - as a guideline you would expect to pay 3 x usual rates.

CAN I GET COPYRIGHT OF THE IMAGES?

Absolutely. Bespoke pricing applies, please enquire for details.

DO YOU SHOOT OVERSEAS?

Sure, you can bring it - but please don’t use it! I really don’t mind you taking a couple of iPhone pictures of me shooting and working with your child, but that’s it. Yo will not be able to photograph the set ups and take pictures over my shoulder as this jeopardises the result you get from me. Your child will be distracted, and so will I. So it's always best you leave the camera at home.

CAN I BRING MY CAMERA TO THE SESSION?

Mixed sessions are also available at a £50 supplement - with those sessions we can do a little in the studio and but also on location. That way you get a variety of looks and more choice.

WHAT IS A MIXED SESSION?

You may pay a £25 per week archive charge if you need more time to place your order. If you would like your gallery reloaded
after it expires, there is a reload charge of £25 to reload it for a further week.

We do not keep the images on file after 1 month unless you have either placed your order and paid a deposit, paid the £25 per week archive
charge or paid the minimum order amount.

There is no exception to this rule, so please do not book me if this is not something you are comfortable with.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T PLACE MY ORDER IN THE WEEK THAT THE GALLERY IS OPEN? CAN YOU EXTEND THE GALLERY FOR ME?

Sure, there is an express service available for a one off payment of £250.

I DON'T WANT TO WAIT 3 WEEKS FOR PROOFS - CAN YOU DO IT ANY FASTER?

95% of my clients opt for digital files, which are supplied on USB. If you are looking to blow images up, make copies for family members and generally use the images for printing to your hearts content, then the digital images are the more cost effective way to go.

However, I do appreciate the fact that not everyone will actually do anything with the images once they receive their USB. If you are one of those people, it’s always best to opt for products as it saves you going through the ordering process yourself.

DO I HAVE TO ORDER DIGITAL FILES, OR DO YOU OFFER PRODUCTS AS WELL?

In an ideal world, whoever is being photographed would be in similar tones. So not necessarily the same colours, but complimenting each other. Personally I prefer to avoid a situation where one family member is dressed in black and another in white, or anything with heavy patterns, big logos or transfers.

Please check out my Pinterest boards for some inspiration!

WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?

Again, no problem at all - life happens, and I am happy to reschedule. In fact, I would insist - attending a session with poorly children, isn’t going to ever yield great results. And it wouldn’t be much fun either! Please give me as much notice as you can of course. You can reschedule a maximum of two times.

WHAT IF MY CHILD IS UNWELL?

Of course! While my camera is weatherproof to a degree, and while I love a shoot which involves, wellies, colourful umbrellas and muddy puddles, I know its not ideal. So if its raining, you will be be able to reschedule your location session OR we can always shoot in the studio if you prefer.

I HAVE A LOCATION SHOOT BUT THE WEATHER IS TERRIBLE - CAN I RESCHEDULE?

There aren’t any images included in your session fee. You will be sent a full price list, to enable you to choose your package, and the cost of images is always in addition to your session fee.  In regards to how many images you will get to choose from this generally varies on the type of session - a single baby will be different to a large family group. As a rough guideline, you will be able to make your choices from anything between 40-100 images.

HOW MANY IMAGES DO I GET INCLUDED?

I am based in a beautiful village called North Waltham, in Hampshire, which is easily accessible from London via the M3.
For those of you living in London, the car journey is about 1 hour. If you are in Essex, you are looking at about 90 minutes. With easy access via the M25 and the M3 or a 50 minute train commute from Waterloo, the studio is easily accessed from most areas. Th studio is approximately 12 minutes away from Basingstoke station by cab, and about 15 minutes from the beautiful City of Winchester. And if you feel the drive is too much for you, why not make it an overnight stay - there are plenty of lovely B&B’s & Country pubs to enjoy locally.I do offer home sessions, as well sessions on location. In fact 80% of my clients are based in London.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED AND DO YOU OFFER SESSIONS AT HOME?

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO HAVE MY BABY PHOTOGRAPHED?

Assuming that you are not looking for a newborn session then the next best time to photograph your little one is between 12- 20 WEEKS.  I can still capture beautiful baby details for you, and we can use some props, but unlike the newborn images your little one will be awake. At that age they develop a bit of personality, and if we are lucky we get some smiles! Please check out the under 1 baby galleries for the types of images you can expect.

There is a stage for every baby where they are a little frustrated - this is normally at around 6 months, when they are trying to sit up but keep toppling over. This stage is best avoided and it makes sense to wait a few weeks until your baby is confidently sitting. If they are constantly toppling over, the session is not much fun. So although cushions can be used for popping up, you probably won’t want them in every picture.

Most babies become more confident sitters at around 7 months onward – this is a great time for a session! At that stage your baby would have got over the frustration of wanting to sit up and not being able to. Your baby is still young enough to achieve some great baby images, as well as the skin on skin type images, but also be old enough for some clothed shots so you can bring along a few outfits - that way you get the best of both worlds.

The next stage is of course walking - again it is best to wait until your little one is confidently walking rather than falling over a lot!
This is simply because I want to make the session fun & enjoyable for all of you. This session can take place at the studio but I find that once your little one starts walking, they can find the studio a little frustrating as it's a confined space. At that stage I recommend that you consider a location shoot - that way the whole family feels a little more free, and your little one can run around to their hearts content.

Once your child reaches a certain age (normally around 3-4) they will be able to take direction a lot better and have an understanding of what is going on, at which point either studio or location will work equally well, then it all comes down to the type of images you prefer.
